This nature house is situated in the middle of the province of Groningen, adjacent to the Middle of Groningen Nature Reserve and two kilometers from the Schildmeer. The house is located on a quiet road, just three kilometers outside the village of Schildwolde. The ruralhut is suitable for four people and it has two bedrooms. The beds in the two bedrooms can be folded up as a double bed or as two single beds. The house is fully insulated and fully equipped. You have a private driveway and free Wi-Fi. The cycling routes go by and in 17 kilometers you can cycle around the Schildmeer. The roadmap is available for you. Behind the cottage is the natural campsite, which you can use. The recreation shed includes games like a ping pong table and an entire library.

The nature house is located close to the centre of Groningen, part of the ecological high structure. Dannemeer 1 is ready and Dannemeer 2, just behind the house, would be ready in 2014. This section is transformed from agricultural area to moor with two "fox free" islands where waterfowl and marsh birds can breed safely. There are also some other nature reserves around the Schildmeer (two kilometers). One of them is Tetjehorn, an area of ​​160 hectares with lots of puddles, reed fields and large areas for foraging geese. Almost all kinds of geese and ducks are seen in Tetjehorn, as well as the meadow birds and waders. There is also a nice viewpoint on the side of Overschild.
