The apartment is on the first floor of a 17th century wine grower?s house which has been completely renovated while preserving its Alsace charm and authenticity. The house is on the southern walls of Riquewihr, a beautiful Medieval town. The walls date from 1291. In the heart of the Alsace vineyards, in the foothills of the Vosges mountains, Pays de Ribeauvillé and Riquewihr enjoys a great diversity of landscapes and local characteristics. This diversity is expressed in plain, vineyard and mountains, all in a territory of 16 communes. The most beautiful wine growing villages on the Wine Route: Beblenheim, Bennwihr, Mittelwihr, Riquewihr, Hunawihr, Zellenberg. The wine growing towns of Bergheim, Ribeauvillé, Rodern, Rorschwihr and Saint-Hippolyte, two mountain communes still retaining their authenticity and simplicity: Aubure and Thannenkirch and three communes situated on the Alsace plain, in the Ried (a mosaic landscape, created by man, and characterised by alternating hay meadows, reed marshes, small oak or hornbeam woods and copse: Guémar, Illhaeusern and Ostheim.
