Nature and surroundings
Two kilometers away is the sandy beach of Perkpolder. The Perkpolder area is being developed into a nature reserve. From the Perkpolder harbor, a ferry for bicycles sails to the other side during the season. During the nearly one-hour crossing, you sail past the sand banks. From here you can spot seals. You also get close to the great seafaring ships that are on their way to or from Antwerp. Walsoorden has a marina and a beach as well. Within cycling distance is the famous Verdronken Land van Saeftinghe, a vast area of salt marshes and salt marshes in the Westerschelde. Nearby are also mills that you can visit. These include mill De Hoed, De Koutermolen, Stadsmolen Hulst, mill De Korenhalm and mill De Hoop. For the little ones, there is also plenty to do. There is an outdoor pool in Kloosterzande and an indoor pool at a vacation park in neighboring Hengstdijk. The well beach is very quiet and very large. On the dike side you have some salt marshes where you can dredge through the mud. On the sea side you have pits where water stays in at low tide. Then, when the weather is nice and warm, everyone has their own private pool. It's nicest here at low tide.
