Nature house in Sart-Lez-Spa (Jalhay)
Liège, Belgium
- 9 persons
- 4 bedrooms
- WiFi
- Pets allowed
Spacious (>250m2) postmodern bungalow (1975) in the valley of the Hoëgne River in the hills of the High Fens, Belgian Ardennes. The house is simple and very practical. Plenty of seating. Fine box spring beds and all the usual kitchen equipment is available. The bungalow is equipped as a group accommodation for up to 8/9 guests. Expect a lovely place to live, certainly not a five-star accommodation, back to basics, but still with luxury. The house is a perfect starting point for exploring this beautiful nature reserve. Close by: Coo, Francorchamps, Spa, Banneux, Monschau. The house is in the middle of the forest, this is seriously different living than in a city. The house is heated with electricity and pellets, no mazout and no gas! On cold winter days, expect to pay €25 p.d. in energy costs. You get a free wheelbarrow of wood. The pellets are € 10 per 15kg bag. Cheap and fine heating you do with the pellets! On cold days you can enjoy (additional) heating.
Nature and surroundings
Our house on the High Fens has a lot of precipitation. It is in the middle of the forest. In winter, you can just run into a deer in the garden. Raccoons, wild boars, it all lives in the surrounding woods! Here you are really outside in nature. Do not compare the living situation with a house in the city or a village. From the house you walk directly via the river Hoëgne to the beautiful forests and moors of the High Fens and the highest point in Belgium: the Baraque Michel. The High Fens are marshy, stay on the paths. Along the way you will not come into contact with the inhabited world, allowing you to fully enjoy what nature has to offer. Furthermore, by car you can easily take a day trip to Monschau, Liege, Verviers, Aachen. And even closer is the beautiful Spa and Malmedy. You can also spend a day with the children and go to Plopsaland Coo and the waterfalls there. Also pilgrimage site Banneux is nearby.
