This cosy ruralhut was originally an old stable that has been, with love and respect for the old details and materials, converted into this ruralhut”. Through a private driveway with parking, you’ll arrive in the spacious garden surrounded by tall trees where you can ease your mind. The French doors welcome you to step inside the bright and cosy living room with its white old beams and a fully equipped open kitchen. There is wireless internet access, tv and a dvd-player at your disposal. Beautiful light comes through the skylights and enters the living room through the open ceiling where you can enjoy the view on the roof construction. Upstairs, next to the open ceiling which is well secured with a fence, you’ll find a comfy space for sleeping. The comfortable double bed is accessible via an open staircase. You will have the possibility to add one or two beds on the other side of the open ceiling, but this space can only be accessed by courageous guests via a ladder. This space is not suitable for small children because of the risk of falling, but older kids would find it an exciting space to sleep. Please note that the two sides upstairs share the same large open space. It’s lovely to sleep under the old beams, where you will only hear the sound of rustling trees, whistling birds or your blissfully snoring bedfellow.

The seadike, the beach and the old port of Harlingen are six kilometers from our cottage. A reservate for birds you will find two kilometers from our cottage. There are two bikes available for trips in the beautiful area around Kimswerd (Harlingen, Bolsward, Franeker). If you want to visit the island of Terschelling, we can bring you to the port of Harlingen. You can leave your car at our property for a while. We live in the farm on the same yard. We can be contacted for help, information and advice for fun trips in our beautiful Friesland. Your holiday cottage and our farmhouse are separated by our garden, so we both have our own space and privacy. Kimswerd, located on the eleven cities route, is a small, quiet and beautiful village where our Frisian hero "Grutte Pier" was born and lived. He still watches over us as a statue at the beginning of our street, next to the ancient church which is also worth a visit. If you want to go grocery shopping, you can go to Harlingen. The supermarket is a 15 minute bike ride.
