This nature house is a beautiful South African home. These African homes are made of wood, stone or clay. These hosts have chosen a wooden house, with attractive wooden walls and floor, and a beautiful wooden ceiling. In the living area there are two spacious armchairs, and ottoman. And a dining table with four dining chairs. The open kitchen is simply furnished and has a four-burner stove, refrigerator, kettle and coffee maker.The master bedroom has two single beds that are attached to each other, but can also be taken apart . There is second bedroom closed with a connecting door, with a bunk bed whose beds can also be placed side by side. A crib or extra bed is possible on request.The bathroom has a shower, two sinks and a toilet. There is enough space to store toiletries. It has become a lovely open and spacious accommodation, with two large wooden doors opening onto the terrace and garden. From the easy chair you can enjoy the view over the meadows and valley. Just like the yurt that is also on this property, this nature house is in one of the most beautiful spots in the garden. The nature house has a spacious terrace with lots of privacy. There are some trees that provide shade. On the terrace under the tree is a dining table with four chairs. And two deck chairs. As with the other accommodations, you can, by arrangement, use the outdoor kitchen. Bed linen and towels are included, but please bring your own beach towels. The stay in the summer months is festively concluded with a communal feast, the 'Sardinhada'. This includes delicious sardines, good wine and a nice get-together. You can join us if you like. In a hilly region, about 100 kilometers north of Lisbon, just outside the village of Acipreste (district of Leiria) lies the former farm "Quinta Antes o Vento" of Francine Satijn and Loek Mandaat. The Quinta is located about 10 kilometers from the Atlantic coast of the Costa da Prata. This region, located between the cities of Alcobaça (known for its Mosteiro, the largest church in Portugal) and the spa town of Caldas da Rainha, is very suitable for hiking. There are numerous marked walks, but participation in guided tours is also highly recommended. Salir do Porto, São Martinho do Porto and the picturesque Nazaré are popular seaside resorts nearby. A little further away are the worthwhile cities of Tomar with the monastery complex of the Knights Templar, Batalha with the imposing abbey of Santa Maria, and the famous pilgrimage site of Fátima. You have everything here: beautiful landscapes, natural beauty, sea beaches, forests, historic cities and friendly and hospitable people. It is a fertile, hilly region, which is very suitable for hiking. More and more walks are being set out by local people, but guided walks are also available from these same people. What I like is that these guides know a lot about the history of Portugal in general, but also about the facts of the region and the places you walk through. So do you fancy a blossom walk in March? Or would you like to see the prints of dinosaur paws in May? Want to enjoy a walk on the cliffs at Salir do Porto in June, or perhaps the wonderful old monasteries at Alcobaça and Batalha in autumn?
