This nature house is located in an idyllic spot in southeast Crete. Here you are in the middle of greenery, but at the same time only five minutes from the azure Libyan Sea. The stone cottage has a private plunge pool on the terrace and a hammock where you can enjoy the view of the mountains. The cottage is laid out so that you live mostly outside. But even when you go inside, you are surrounded by peace and atmosphere. There is a living room with kitchen, a bathroom and a bedroom, all decorated in a mix of oriental and rural atmospheres. In the process, the cottage is 100% self-sufficient in electricity (off grid) through solar panels and its own batteries. At Kalyvitis, the landlords make their own goat cheese, honey, wine and olive oil. All on a small scale, but with great care, a feast for lovers to taste. This nature house is a wonderful home base for the true hiking and nature lover. Located nearby are no less than five gorges that differ greatly from each other and all have their own charm. Since southeast Crete has little tourism and the Cretans themselves are mostly not fanatical hikers, the gorges here are unspoiled and nice and quiet. If you want to keep it less intensive, you can also drive endlessly through beautiful mountains and along the azure coastline on impressive and very quiet roads.
