Hidden among rolling slopes of the French Ardennes lies this characteristic old granary. Since 1869, on the edge of Grands Cornaux, a hamlet near the village of Liart. A century and a half later, the imposing structure has been restored preserving its ancient soul, but equipped with modern conveniences. There is a kitchen with stylish interior, living room with panoramic views, bedrooms with lovely beds, spacious shower and a covered terrace. In the adjoining Orangery is also in spring and autumn delicious stay. The nature house is suitable for 4-5 people, with 2 bedrooms and an extra folding bed. For 5 adults it is a bit on the cramped side, with children it is easier. Although the nature house has several facilities for children, the rough terrain may be less suitable for very young children, who already want to explore but do not yet realize that a nettle can sting.
Nature and surroundings
An authentic but comfortable nature house where you can enjoy the tranquility of the countryside. Or be active on the many hiking and mountain bike trails. An ideal place to do a lot of exercise in the beautiful Ardennes nature or just relax with a book in the hammock swing or stare into the crackling fire by the wood stove. And you are there in no time, 325 kilometers from Utrecht. The cottage is located in nature, in the Parc Naturel Régional des Ardennes. Just across the Belgian border, but immediately all France with church, pub, bakery and Spar around the corner. Many opportunities for trips to historic cities like Sedan and Charleville-Mézieres and Champagne capital Reims. Or wandering through the woods, swimming in and boating on one of the many lakes. (Just down the road is another nature house, an old farmhouse owned by the same Dutch owner, Nature House (31753).
