Nature and surroundings
In the most beautiful part of Värmland lies this charming spot. Between the Klarälven which invites to canoeing, fishing or to descend it with a raft and the Rådasjön in, where it is good to stay at the sandy beach. In the summer the possibilities are endless. Hiking, walking through the endless forests that are nowhere the same, canoeing, taking a trolley trip on the old railroad line between Uddeholm and Hagfors, booking a wildlife safari, beaver safari or moose safari, visiting the moose farm in Ekshärad, watching the waterfalls in stöllet, the nights that don't get dark, something for everyone. In winter there are cross-country ski trails from the village, lit in the evening, in Torsby or Branas you can ski, ice fishing or go by yourself with a dog sledge over a frozen lake. The crooked roads through dense forestry, along the many lakes or through picturesque villages invite you to cycle or tour around by motorcycle. Every region has its own hembygsgård, a kind of open-air museum where all the original houses from that region, hundreds of years old, have been moved to. Should you encounter a sign "loppis" along the way, it can be very rewarding to see where it leads. Sometimes you come across the most extraordinary old things in barns or people's homes. The weeks before Christmas there are Christmas markets here and there with lots of handmade delicacies and Christmas decorations.
