There are beautiful off-leash areas for dogs in the immediate vicinity. In the garden, however, they must be leashed. The pavilion is located against the forest and you walk directly into nature. In the living room there is a piano. You reach the room on the upper floor via an abbey staircase. Please note that the pavilion is a 100mtr walk from parking. A cart for luggage is available. There is an electric charging station for guests. The terrace is partially paved/and gravel, need for rain drainage.
Nature and surroundings
In the vicinity of the nature house are within cycling distance the unique nature reserves the Fochteloërveen and the Bald Dunes. The Fochteloërveen is the last piece of raised bog in the Netherlands that has not yet been cleared and where peat is still being formed. The sandy plain of the Kale Duinen is still expanding every year and is a fine example of the new insights in nature management. From the back entrance of the garden you can walk straight into the forest to the visitor center of the Drents- Friese Wold. After the Veluwe, this is the largest contiguous nature reserve in our country. Stream valleys, heaths and moors follow one another in this Friesland for nature seekers and foodies. Not too far from our scenic landscape lies the more expansive Friesland of sailors and skaters. Hedgerows, wooded country roads and peat canals crisscross the old landscape. And everywhere a spire looms up among the foliage. The dream region of every hiker, cyclist and nature lover. A world heritage site just a stone's throw away, Veenhuizen prison museum but also Belvedere, Heerenveen, the Drents Museum, Groningen Museum and a wealth of small regional museums.
