Nature and surroundings
On this farm, the hosts have plenty of outdoor space where there is a small pool (screened in), playing field, trampoline and swings. As icing on the cake, there is also a natural sandbox! 'Stoking a fire' no problem as long as it is done in the campfire area. The farm is located in the Siljans region. This area was formed 360 million years ago by the impact of a meteorite. On the edge of the then crater are several lakes, which together mark the outline of the eroded crater. Furudal is located on the northeastern edge of the crater on the Oresjön (Lake Orem) and Skattungen (Lake Skattungen). The area is characterized by beautiful hills, wide views, dark forests and a microclimate. In spring it is a coming and going of cranes. Behind the farm, accessible by a path through the forest, runs the Siljan Trail, a 200-kilometer hiking trail around Lake Siljan. About a 20-minute walk away is a beach on Lake Skattungen, child-friendly and long shallow. In Furudal itself there are also several swimming possibilities in the Oresjön. A half hour drive away is the Ekopark Ejheden, here you can experience how the forests once looked like there is also the since 1960 abandoned village (Ejheden) with beautiful views over the lakes. Furthermore, you can find the last wolf hunter's cabin and stone-age settlements.
