Nature and surroundings
On the west side of the large, hilly and beautiful Bergherbos (Montferland), in the southeast corner of the Achterhoek, lies the village of Beek. On the outskirts of Beek with unobstructed views of fields and forests all around, you will find this nature house, a converted farmhouse from 1890. The aerial photo shows well how free this nature house is. Yet the inhabited world is within cycling and walking distance. Ideal for MTB cyclists with challenging hilly routes. An MTB specialist store in the village. Places like 's Heerenbergh (castle Huis Bergh), Doetinchem and Doesburg in the Netherlands and Emmerich and Kleef across the border in Germany are worth a visit. The region offers much: in addition to fantastic cycling routes in the borderland river area around Rhine and IJssel, there are also wine estates, castles, mills, museums, nice restaurants and attractive events all year round. The Pieterpad and the Naoberpad run right past this nature house.
