Nature house in Maella

This nature house is located in a small valley. The cottage where you will stay is the old residence and storage place of the farmers who came to pick the olives. In the valley there are 200 olive trees, some of them more than 200 years old. The cottage is very private, the last 400 meters of the road are even private road, so there is no traffic to pass by. This is not a classic resort, if you come here on vacation you are looking for an adventure, for authenticity and a unique experience. To get to the valley you get a map with the road to follow to get there, as there is no address. High rock formations can be seen around the olive grove. One of the peaks is one of the highest in the region, from where you can see for miles in all directions. The olive grove is stretched over about twenty plateaus to cover the difference in altitude. If you walk from the cottage to the higher plateaus, you can see a cave house in the hill, which used to serve as a refuge for rebels against Franco's regime. On one of the highest plateaus there is a trampoline bed mounted on a rock, which you can use to lie on during the day or sleep on at night. At the nature house you can use the outdoor shower.

Nearby nature consists mainly of pine trees and hills covered with rosemary bushes. Many fields are full of olive or almond trees, historically and to some extent still the main crops of the region. In the valley and surroundings you can encounter animals such as Spanish deer, partridges, wild boars and many more.The area around Maella, the nearest village, is beautiful and there are several well-known and beautiful villages to visit, such as Calaceite, Valderrobres, Alcaniz, Tortosa. The nearest coastal town is L'Hospitalet de L'Infant, located an hour's drive away. Also the lake of Caspe and the wide river area of the Ebro what they call 'Mar de Aragon', very well known by fishermen, are a 20-minute drive from the valley. On the Ebro you can also make fine kayaking trips in different locations. There are also a few mountain bikes available at the house which you can use to make nice trips in the area, although it is quite challenging because of the height differences.
