This nature house made of wood hides in the greenery of the surrounding forest. Four French doors open from the living room onto a spacious and partially covered terrace, where garden furniture is set up. The cozy living room measures about 25 m² of oak flooring. Two comfortable two-seater sofas and an armchair form -in addition to a coffee table and secretary- the main part of the furniture. Furthermore, a large TV and WiFi connection. The kitchen and dining area form a common space. The kitchen cabinets contain everything you need to make a tasty meal. A countertop with a four-burner stove, combination microwave, dishwasher, kettle, hand blender, Senseo coffee maker and fridge-freezer provide technical support. The shower and toilet facilities are recent and neat. A washing machine and condenser dryer are located in the hallway leading to the bedrooms. There are two bedrooms. Heating of the house is done by four gas wall heaters, allowing the house to be pleasantly heated in winter. Hot water supply via a boiler. To protect the forest and the house, it is not allowed to use a coal barbecue or fire basket. However, an electric or gas barbecue is allowed (bring your own).
Nature and surroundings
Oak, beech, birch, larch, spruce and Scots pine line the upper reaches of the forest, and the ground cover consists of blueberry, mosses, ferns, brambles and grasses. In between you will then find currants, holly, laurel, honeysuckle and rowan. Especially in spring, a sensuous concert of the bird population present can be heard every day. Blackbird, great thrush, song thrush, various species of titmice, robin, pied flycatcher, goldcrest, wren, golden oriole, chaffinch, blackhead and nuthatch engage in a melodious battle with each other. If you provide the feeding table with small pieces of cheese and bread, as well as some seed, peanuts and fat balls in winter, you can expect visits from tits, finches, blackbirds, nuthatches, woodpigeons, woodpeckers and jays in no time, but you can also spot treecreepers with some regularity. Less frequently you will see long-eared and tawny owl, buzzard, merlin, sparrowhawk and hawk. In winter there are often visits from siskins, greenfinches, yellowhammers and sometimes a pair of goldfinches. With any luck, a toad, green frog, hazelworm, grass snake, lizard or salamander may be discovered.
