This spacious nature house can accommodate groups of families and friends of up to 18 people divided over nine rooms. There are 9 bedrooms in total. One room is adapted for wheelchair users. There are 6 bathrooms available, and 6 toilets. The kitchen is equipped with all modern comforts: a large stove with oven, a large refrigerator, a separate freezer, a large dishwasher and a microwave. A bar and cozy dining area overlooking the fields makes this vacation home a perfect place to stay. In the large garden, children can have fun on and around the playground equipment, while the adults enjoy a summer (or winter) meal on the cozy outdoor terrace, which can be completely covered. Even when the weather is not so good, the children, and the adults ;-) can have fun in the play barn. Darts, kicker, table tennis, folk games, something for everyone. The new heated outdoor pool is an absolute asset to enjoy.
Nature and surroundings
Several biking and hiking trails start from the nearby Hooge Crater Museum. You can rent bikes and hire a private storytelling guide for hikes and/or bike tours. The provincial property, "Gasthuisbossen" is located south of this unique vacation home, and with its 230 acres of forest, and must do for hikers and nature lovers. The Bellewaerde amusement park is within walking distance and the center of Zonnebeke (three kilometers) and Ypres (four kilometers) are easily accessible. The nature house is located along a beautiful lane 600 meters from the public road, in the middle of the historic WWI site of Bellewaerde. Baron de Vinck of the castle estate near Hooge had a country cottage there that the British christened "Wee Cottage" on their trench maps. More than 100 years later, the rebuilt cottage is an oasis of peace in the middle of a green and wooded area that invites hiking, biking and even horseback riding.
