An ideal nature house for a family or friends weekend or as a training location. Undisturbed enjoy the silence, on a mound in the middle of the meadows, away from the public road. The total living area is 240 m² with a garden of 6000 m². The accommodation has 18 fixed berths but extra mattresses can easily be added or a tent can be set up in the garden in summer. There are 6 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. The farmhouse is a 'semi-detached' situation. We will also be present most of the time, but highly respect the privacy of our guests. We have two friendly dogs of our own. There is a detached spacious outdoor living room (40 m²) in the garden where you can sit at the large table with many people. There is a box bed (1.60x2.00 meters) where you can also spend the night. A large wood stove provides heat. There is one large barbecue. Outside, open fire is prohibited due to the thatched roof. Not suitable for youth groups.

There is plenty to see and do near the nature house, located on the national monument De terp Groot Baarda, just outside the village of Holwerd in northern Friesland. The terp itself is a national monument (number 45331) dated around the beginning of the era. The first inhabitants lived there around 1400. The stins is mentioned early on: in 1404 as the "Bauwerda steenhuys. The name is derived from the mound Baert. You will also find the Wadden Sea World Heritage Site near the house. Holwerd is located in an agricultural area, close to the Wadden Sea dike, about a two-hour drive from the Randstad (Amsterdam-Holwerd = 150 kilometers). The farm is in the middle of the meadows, 300 meters from the public road. Pheasants, hares and deer run close by and sometimes even through the garden. Birdwatchers can enjoy themselves. In the Netherlands this is the area with the least light pollution and the oxygen content is high. The place is very suitable for vacations with friends or family or to work or rehearse for groups of 6 to about 17 people. Even for larger groups there is plenty of room. Here you are far away from civilization. Undisturbed enjoy the silence. The space and freedom you experience on the mound are a blessing. Nature is vast; the Wadden Sea is nearby and for nice stores you can go to Dokkum or Leeuwarden.
