This nature house is characterized by the two ancient protected carob trees in front of the house. The house originally served as a farmer's cortijito ("siesta house"). In recent decades it has expanded into a complete house of some 130 m² with a spacious open, Andalusian kitchen, dining and living room with clean high-efficiency wood stove, three bedrooms sleeping eight and two bathrooms. The nature house faces south and has sea views. The garden measures 3,000 m². In it there is a pool of 4x10 meters. There is an outdoor kitchen with barbecue (in the summer only an electric barbecue/grill because of fire hazard). The cottage is located on the edge of the nature reserve, in which you can walk endlessly. On the grounds there are olives, agaves and also the pine trees typical of the nature reserve. This gives the cottage a sheltered, but not isolated location with lots of privacy and there are terraces and seating areas in both sun and shade.

Cómpeta is one of the white villages in the Axarquia, the area east of Malaga, located some 600 meters high and 16 km from the sea. It is an ideal base for hiking and horseback riding through the more than 40,000-hectare Las Sierras de Tejeda, Almijara y Alhama nature reserve. It lies on the border of the province of Malaga and Granada and is home to Malaga's highest mountain: the Maroma, 2000 m. The landscape is rugged and whimsical. Due to the differences in altitude, there is a diversity of vegetation and flora and fauna. The village has a Moorish tradition and is known for the production of Malaga wine. The village offers many facilities, such as restaurants, ATMs, supermarkets. In the village square are the church and a number of restaurants. Cómpeta has not kept up with modern times in everything: you regularly encounter the shepherd with his herd of goats, and you should also not be surprised when a local farmer arrives on horseback to have a beer in the bar.
