This nature house is on a property together with two other nature houses. You enter this nature house through the hall with a wooden bench. After this you enter the large living room with massive fireplace, glass wall overlooking the terrace and spacious open kitchen. The kitchen offers everything to prepare a simple or a very elaborate meal. From this central space you have access to both bedrooms on the ground floor, each with its own bathroom. From the bedrooms you have direct access to the terrace with garden furniture and lounge sofa. From the living room the wooden stairs take you to the cozy reading corner and the extra bedroom. The house has a laundry room, where you will find a washing machine, vacuum cleaner and other cleaning materials for household chores. From the garden you get to the pool via a jetty. Behind the house is the outdoor kitchen with a barbecue and a stove for the ultimate Hungarian experience: preparing your own kettle goulash.
Nature and surroundings
The Cserehát nature reserve is located on the south side of the Hungarian-Slovakian border and is bordered by the Sajó, Bódva and Hernád rivers. Compared to the rougher, Slovak side of the area, the Cserehát is rolling (250-300 meters high) and covered in forest. Consequently, it has thriving wildlife. Visitors will mostly see foxes, deer and roe deer. The mostly shy wild boar are less visible, but also present in large numbers. The area is popular with hikers, cyclists, anglers and hunters. The wide variety of bird species makes the Cserehát an ornithological destination par excellence. True, life in the Hungarian countryside offers some challenges. Although in Irota the baker (three times even), the vegetable farmer and even a pastry chef stop by every week, the village does not have its own store. However, this doesn't mean you have to be deprived of local delicacies. Landlords can tell you where to buy eggs, fruits and vegetables. Water sports enthusiasts are referred to Lake Rakaca, about 40 minutes by car. The lake is beautifully situated among the hills and offers a rich variety of flora and fauna. Although great for swimming, rowing, fishing and windsurfing, this natural area is remarkably quiet. If you plan to cast a fishing rod, you must have a fishing license. The landlords will help you purchase one if desired.
