This simple cozy nature house has 4 sleeping places, divided into one bedroom with a double bed and a loft with four single beds. There is also a living room (with a TV), kitchen, shower and toilet. The nature house has central heating and a wood stove! (You can use two bicycles, a rowing boat and a canoe. Around the cottage is a garden. Because the nature house is simple and not accessible by car (five minutes by bike, fifteen minutes walk from the road), it is especially popular with nature lovers.
Nature and surroundings
The Rottige Meenthe is a nature reserve in the southwest of Friesland. From the cottage you can make several walks, which are set out by the Forestry Commission. In the area you can encounter storks, birds of prey, deer and the harmless grass snake. It is also wonderful to take a rowing boat down the Scheene, along the 'petgaten'. For the go-getters, Spanga can be reached, where a stork colony can be admired and operas are performed in the summer. Cycling through the Driewegsluis, Ossenzijl or Oldemarkt, the Weerribben can be reached. There are also beautiful bicycle tours along the Linde and to Echtenerburg, in both cases can be used self-service ferries. Furthermore, sailing, swimming and fishing can be done in the area. A visit to Lemmer, Hindelopen, Workum and Makkum is also worthwhile, as is walking on the heath in Duurswoude.
