Located in Lower Normandy, this nature house is a granite farmhouse that was completely renovated in 2010. The cottage has been restored using as many natural building materials as possible and combines old elements with modern comforts. The cottage is detached, quiet and rural in a small hamlet of Launay, which is near the village of St. Clément-Rancoudray. On the ground floor you will find a cozy living room with granite fireplace and wood stove and a lovely spacious kitchen diner. Upstairs you will find a bathroom with walk-in shower, a separate toilet room and two spacious bedrooms, one with a bathtub on legs. There is a room with a double bed and a bedroom with three single beds. Thus, a total of five adults and one baby can stay. The cottage has its own access with plenty of parking space and is set in a beautifully landscaped private garden with a generous south-facing terrace. The nature house is located about 260 meters above sea level which gives you a beautiful view over the hilly Bocage! So you can fully enjoy beautiful sunsets and clear starry nights. In July and August electricity is included. In the other months the first 10 kWh per day is included, after that you pay €0.15 per kWh! WiFi is available.
Nature and surroundings
Basse Normandie is a beautiful region rich in nature, beach, culture, history and good food and drink. The nature house is located in the heart of the Bocage Mortainais, in the south of the Manche department. A varied tree-lined landscape with girdles of hedges and trees, with valleys, rocks, rolling meadows, streams and apple orchards. The plot borders the nature reserve 'La Tourbiere de la Lande Mouton'; a marshy peat bog with beautifully laid out footpaths (partly wheelchair accessible). The area is naturally grazed by a herd of Scottish Highlanders. The nature house is the ideal base for exploring all the major attractions of Normandy and only a short day's drive away. The cottage is close to beautiful beaches, quaint towns, natural parks and forests. But numerous cultural and historical attractions are also within easy reach. Think of the D-day beaches (Utah Beach, Omaha Beach), and beautiful historic cities like Avranches, Caen, Bayeux. The Breton cities of Saint Malo, Fougères and Rennes are also easy to visit as day trips.
