The farmhouse is located in a green oasis of a hamlet near the village of Liart, in the middle of the French countryside The last French residents of the farmhouse play the surprising leading role in a remarkable newspaper column by Dutch journalist Henk Hofland. A family epic in nutshell that now hangs man-sized in the cottage. After the death of the last family member, the little farmhouse falls into disrepair until the current owners raise it from the ashes with respect for the past, but adapted to modern times. Nature and surroundings
And of course, the nature house is surrounded by nature, in the middle of the Parc Regional des Ardennes. Lovely hiking on beaten and unbeaten paths, cycling up and down hills or swimming in a lake. On a sunny Sunday morning browse a flea market in the area or visit historic cities like Charleville Mezières, Sedan or champagne capital Reims. On a crisp autumn day, trudging through the clay with boots. Or just doing nothing by the wood stove. It's all possible. And all within a short drive, less than 250 kilometers from the Dutch border. But plenty of "la Douce France," with church, pub and grocery store, baguettes and croissants. The spacious grounds house an orchard with various fruit varieties.
