On the edge of the forest, with a wide view over the meadows, in a quiet and cozy place is the nature house built in 1941. The large sitting room has a cozy sitting area with sofa and loose chairs in front of the fireplace. In addition, the gas stove warms the house excellently on colder days. The large dining table overlooks the garden and through the covered terrace gives access to a large garden on the southwest. Outside is a fire pit for home-cut wood. In the barn there is garden furniture and a barbecue. For children there is plenty of space, a large sandbox and swings to play. Playpen possible on request (free of charge). In deviation from the standard departure time one may leave later on Sundays (until 10 p.m.).
Nature and surroundings
The 62-hectare estate consists of forest plots interspersed with meadows and fields. Most of the forest plots were planted at the beginning of the last century and consist of beech, oak or are mixed with softwood. Along the meadows and fields run the wooded banks with thick oaks characteristic of Twente. In the right season, cereals can be seen in the fields and cows in the meadows. Parts of the estate have been laid out park-like by landscape architect Pieter Wattez.
