This tastefully decorated nature house made of wood hides in the greenery of its surrounding German and Dutch forest. This invites for a lovely walk. The nature house can accommodate six people and possibly a baby. The cottage has two floors. Because it is on a "hill," the ground floor is higher. Here there is one bedroom overlooking the Dutch forest and the German forest. From the spacious living room with open kitchen you have a view of the German forest on one side and a view of private property on the other. French doors lead to the terrace and forest garden; garden furniture is amply provided. On the first floor there are two bedrooms and a children's playroom. The cottage has been totally renovated and is fully equipped. For example, there is both central heating and a cozy wood stove. The extensive assortment of herbs, oil and vinegar, salt, pepper, sugar in the kitchen may be used by guests. The use of wood for the wood stove is also included. Of course, there is a TV and wifi. Children and pets are welcome. Smoking in the cottage is not allowed.
Nature and surroundings
The nature house stands in a five-acre forest that is not open to the public. Of this, over half an acre belongs to this cottage. The forest plot is adjacent to a German forest of over 150 hectares that is freely accessible. The village of Winterswijk, which is nearby, is in the middle of Winterswijk National Landscape. This area of 22,000 hectares received this designation in 2005 because of its special character. It is a fantastic area for walks, cycling tours and nature photography, for example. Within National Landscape Winterswijk lies a large number of nature reserves. Also just across the border in Germany there is much beauty to see, such as the Zwillbrocker Venn where in the summer months a colony of flamingos breeds.
