This unique nature house is made on the old foundation of a fattening bull stable. What was once an ugly stable are now Austrian-looking houses with lots of wood also on the outside. It is situated on a hill with beautiful views over the Geul valley. At the front the Geul meanders and at the back a curious bowl in the Keutenberg gives you the feeling of being abroad. From the balcony of this nature house you can look very far over the Geul valley. Below flows the Geul and in the distance you can see the villages. The nature house has three bedrooms and a cozy living room which adjoins a large terrace. The open kitchen is fully equipped, including a dishwasher, induction hob and microwave.
Nature and surroundings
The large farmhouse was built in 1930. In the beginning it was a fruit farm and was known for its cherries. Then cows, sheep and horses were kept and many of the fruit trees were uprooted. In the last 10 years, many trees have been planted again and there is hobby livestock. On and around the farm now reside two cows, about ten sheep, three donkeys and many chickens of all shapes and sizes. Also, the dog and cat who does a good job of keeping the mice out. It is located in the heart of South Limburg, just outside the hamlet of Stokhem. The area is better known as the Heuvelland. The farm is located along the river Geul in a beautiful protected nature reserve. The nature house is built on a hill and from the beautiful panorama it owes its name. Because of its convenient location, the cities of Liege, Aachen, Maastricht and Heerlen can be reached within half an hour by car.
