Maremma is the name of the southernmost part of Tuscany. The rolling hills of this area are famous for their pristine natural beauty. This nature house is located in the Albegna valley and has beautiful views over the valley, to the coast and to Monte Labro (there's a nice walk around the hilltop). There are oak forests and fields with sheep around the house. Sometimes you can see wild animals like deer, wild boar, foxes, porcupines and hares when you arrive at the house. Walks are possible from the house. The Rocconi WWF nature reserve (130 ha.) is in the vicinity, the Pescinello nature reserve with its ancient oak trees is nearby too. Monte Amiata (20 mins) has the largest beech woods in Europe and has numerous trails. The hot springs of Saturnia are nearby (25 minutes drive). The UNESCO heritage area the Val d'Orcia is 40 minutes. The Etruscan villages Pitigliano and Sorano are 35 minutes by car. Parco Maremma nature reserve with its beautiful 9km beach is 75 minutes away.
