Via a dirt road you reach a beautifully situated, detached nature house within cycling distance of Vlagtwedde. You can hear the birds singing and see the deer from the house walking through the stream valley landscape overlooking a private pond. You experience a varied landscape with meadows, woods and fields. The house has its own access and is located in the yard of an old residential farm with ponies, donkey, chickens and geese. The house has many conveniences, including a refrigerator and cooking facilities, toilet, gas fireplace, television and WiFi. There are two single beds. The shower (shared) is located in the farmhouse. You can also enjoy the outdoors by your own wood fire or at the barbecue. The artisan bakery with typical local products is within walking distance.
Nature and surroundings
From the doorstep of the cottage you have direct access to hiking and cycling routes in the valley of the Ruiten Aa and Westerwolde. In recent years the valley has been restored to its old, meandering state. On shell paths through meadows and forests you can walk past old, characteristic villages, such as Smeerling, Ter Wupping and Wessinghuizen. The Noaberpad (from Nieuweschans to Emmerich in Germany) is a stone's throw from the cottage. By bicycle you have the opportunity to explore the rich, historic surroundings. Among others, the old fortress Bourtange, the castle in Wedde and the monastery in Ter Apel are well worth a visit. Even if you are not an action enthusiast, you will get plenty of nature. Deer, foxes and buzzards are your neighbors!
