Welcome to this cozy cabin in the woods. The nature house is a wonderful, quiet place to get away from it all in your own country. The cottage is situated on a spacious plot of approximately 1200 m² of private land. The cottage is located in the forest and is therefore not sun-drenched. An advantage of this is that it is nice and cool in the summer. Through two large skylights there is plenty of light and you can look at the treetops and at night to a starry sky. The true nature lover is in his place here. From your bed with a little luck you can see the squirrels walking. In addition, the woodpecker often shows itself. With the protected (yet accessible to hikers) Korenburgerveen less than a kilometer away and with many hiking and cycling routes in the area, this is the ideal environment to unwind. Just under three kilometers by bike is the village center of Winterswijk with plenty of catering and shopping opportunities. Also closer in the area (think hamlets) are terraces open in the summer. With a maximum of four adults (or two adults and two children) the nature house offers a spacious and comfortable place to stay.
Nature and surroundings
The Achterhoek is praised for its coulisse landscape. The small scale and variety of streams, woods, fields and meadows make it a beautiful area for walking and cycling. Close to the cottage is that as mentioned the Korenburgerveen, but also places like the Bekendelle and the Zwillbrock are important protected nature reserves in the vicinity. Here you can also find rare bird species, such as the kingfisher, and at the Zwillbrock in summer flamingos can be seen. There are also two recreational lakes within cycling distance: the Hilgelo in Winterswijk and the Slingeplas in Bredevoort, the first of which is the closest. Winterswijk offers plenty of catering and shopping opportunities and can be reached by bike in 15 minutes. By car it is 10 minutes. Close by is also the village of Groenlo, a beautiful fortified town. Groenlo is also called "Grolle" in dialect. This is also where the Grolsch beer comes from. Bredevoort is known in the region as the book town. It owes this nickname to the many bookstores that can be found there.
