The house is comfortably furnished, has a large garden that offers a lot of privacy and is located by the water. The jetty around the house ensures that you can always find a spot in the sun or shade. The kitchen is fully equipped (including oven, dishwasher and Nespresso machine with coffee cups). All linen is provided, the lovely box-spring beds are made up. There is TV, wifi, two bicycles and a rowing boat. You can swim, as the water is clean and clear. The many water lilies, frogs and kingfisher are living proof of that. Unfortunately, fishing is not allowed. Perhaps even more beautiful than the house itself is its location. The house is located in the middle of the nature reserve De Molenpolder and is built on a peninsula with water on two sides. It is about 200 meters from the public road and you reach it via a walking path. Of course, if you prefer to go by rowboat, you can do that too. Sky, trees, reeds and water, that's what you see.
Nature and surroundings
The kingfisher is a regular guest and with a little luck you will see the short-eared owl flying at night. There is a rowboat right outside the door to explore the beautiful area. Although it is a closed area, you can wander for hours. Peat excavation has created a zigzag pattern of elongated ponds and legacies, interspersed with narrow fords and narrow creeks. If you want to explore further afield, two bicycles are available in the barn. The landlords have wonderful walking and cycling routes ready for you, ranging from one hour to a whole day. There is much to see in the area, ranging from the historic estates on the Vecht and the Loosdrecht lakes to the woods and the Hilversumse Hei. Utrecht is also within cycling distance. In 30 minutes you are at the Oude Gracht, right in the center. The beautiful sauna and wellness complex Spa Sereen is less than a kilometer away. Nearby is the village of Maarssen. There are plenty of restaurants and stores for daily shopping.
