Our comfortable nature house is part of our farm Le Douvet and is completely independent with its own entrance, south facing garden and terrace for a wonderful relaxing vacation. Downstairs is the open kitchen, dining table and a sitting area with wood stove. There is also electric heating. The sleeping quarters are on the first floor as are the bathroom facilities (shower, toilet and sink). In the loft there are two single beds and a separate bedroom with a double bed (Auping). Children have all the space to play and explore and may help feed and take care of the animals. In the large barn there is a table tennis table and table soccer. In the summer months we also run a small campground with 6 sites. At the campsite there is a volleyball court, a sandbox and a tower with swings and a slide. There is also a nature trail around our horse pasture with observation towers for bird watching.
Nature and surroundings
Le Douvet is located on an estate of over three acres in the gently rolling hills of the Charente Limousine, between Limoges and Angoulême. The nature house overlooks the flower vegetable garden and surrounding meadows. Guests are free to explore the grounds or find a spot of shade in one of our hammocks on site. You can enjoy walking along small farm roads. There is very little traffic. Nearby are also two reservoirs for fishing, swimming, sailing and canoeing. For cyclists there are beautiful tours. From our farm several walks are possible. With pleasure we provide hiking and cycling maps. At less than 5 km in the summer there is also a lovely free outdoor pool. There are beautiful small towns in the vicinity, such as Rochechouart, Confolens and La Rochefoucauld, with beautiful castles and old Romanesque churches.
