In the old stable of this farmhouse, from 1914, the landlords have created a nature house. The nature house consists of a spacious room/kitchen of 42 m², equipped with underfloor heating, gas stove fridge/freezer, microwave, washing machine and WiFi. The large sitting area has a TV and an electric fireplace. There is also a dining table with six chairs. In the stable loft there are 2 double beds, a shower room, two rooms with sink and a second toilet. There is a covered terrace, equipped with fridge and barbecue, and a terrace with lounge set and large table. We would like to show you the farm and tell you about it, but the farm is not a children's playground! With us on the farm, it is possible to dine boergondish, what the Pot schaft! Or a homemade drinks board. To be booked on the spot.

Nature and surroundings

The farm stands in Stolwijk, at the end of a cul-de-sac, in the middle of the meadows. Through characteristic country roads, many bicycle routes are possible to, for example, Schoonhoven, Oudewater and Gouda. By car you are within 30 minutes in Rotterdam, within 45 minutes in Utrecht or The Hague and within one hour in Amsterdam. Stolwijk in the Krimpenerwaard, fun in every season! Relaxed cycling & walking. An extensive network of cycling and hiking trails awaits you. The walking and cycling nodes make it easy to plan your getaway. There are more than 200 kilometers of routes on paved and unpaved paths. You can stop along the way at one of the many restaurants in the villages and towns or on the waterfront. You can still admire the many historic buildings: farms, churches, mills, pumping stations and water towers. For the children there are several bridges and huts to build and they can study fish and critters. Krimpenerwaard consists of eleven beautiful very different villages and towns. They are all fun to stroll through at your leisure. Meanwhile, take a look at the cozy stores, beautiful museums and galleries and catering establishments.

The main reason why it was such a pleasant visit was Andrea and John. They make you feel completely welcome and they are lovely people. You can do your own thing and if you feel like having a chat they are open to that, but it is not necessary. Andrea cooked delicious food twice. One time it was "what's on the plate" and the other time it was the Burgundian menu. Both times thoroughly enjoyed (the chicken from the barbecue was particularly delicious). The cottage has a cozy atmosphere and underneath is hidden modern technology. The underfloor heating in the living room and bathroom is powered by heat exchangers that draw heat from the cow's milk and from the ground. This feels comfortable and smart because the heat is reused.

You're really out here. It's quiet. When you walk outside you don't hear any highways, for example, because this farm is so centrally located in the Krimpenerwaard. You see the meadows around you. The farm is on a cul-de-sac, so there is almost no traffic passing by. Because the nature house is part of a farm, you sometimes hear farm sounds, such as the milking of the cows. I liked that because it also makes you feel a little part of farm life. The cottage felt spacious to me, including upstairs because of the high roof near the sleeping area and the windows that bring light from upstairs to downstairs. I did a lot of biking in the area. The nature is varied including a beautiful route along the Vlist, a great stretch of cycling with wide views along the Lek, the nature reserve the Loet, combined with the old polders.

Very nice stay had very welcoming and during the stay the contact was relaxed and accessible. Possibly the inventory could be a bit more extensive but we managed just fine. Very nice that there was opportunity for a tour during the milking of the cows.

Fine cottage between farm and cowshed, equipped with many conveniences and nice and spacious. Nice beds and good shower. Steep stairs could be an obstacle for people with mobility problems; best to ask the landlord.

Delightful place on the farm, among the animals and agricultural vehicles. A paradise for children who love the outdoors.
