Stay in an authentic and detached cottage from around 1900 in one of the most beautiful places in the area of the village of Pionsat. The cottage is fully equipped and offers an ideal base to relax and de-stress. A place for tranquility, hikers, nature lovers, cyclists and other bon vivants! Fantastic views over fields, forests and rolling meadows. The cottage and the garden are detached. The garden is fenced where your dog can roam freely. This sheltered garden has fruit trees and offers lots of privacy. The house is located at the end of a tiny hamlet, at the beginning of a dirt road with age-old chestnut trees. Through this path you walk directly to a large forest, the Bois de Pionsat. The cottage can accommodate up to four people. Bed, bath and kitchen linen and your pet are included in the price.
Nature and surroundings
Meandering rivers, charming villages, Romanesque churches, vast forests, hills and (volcanic) lakes characterize this region, Le Pays des Combrailles. A paradise for nature lovers, hikers, cyclists. On the waterfront: Lac Fades des Beserves, Confolant and Europe's cleanest river, la Sioule, which has carved its way deep through the landscape. Several weekly markets and flea markets can be found in Montluçon, St.Gervais d'Auvergne and Clermont-Ferrand, among others. In addition to its special nature and volcanic landscape, you will also find an abundance of culture, gastronomy and fascinating history in Auvergne. Visit Gergovia, where Julius Caesar was defeated in 52 B.C. by the Gallic king Vercingetorix. Some 50 castles can be visited on the historic castle trails. At the heart of the Parc Naturel Régional des Volcans d'Auvergne is the ancient volcano le Puy de Dôme (1,465 meters). Since 2018, this area has been on the Unesco World Heritage List.
