This nature house is a room and falls under the B&B Farmhouse. The farm room is located on the first floor. You have your own bathroom and toilet on the ground floor. In front of the window in the room is a little table with bar stools; here you have a nice view over the meadow with the ponies. The woodshed has been converted into a cosy breakfast room with wood stove. The delicious organic breakfast (if booked) is made as much as possible with own and regional products. There are also 2 mobile homes. (See also the mobile homes at nature house Onstwedde). You can use the garden with seating, barbecue and your own fire basket. Wood gathering in nearby forest or for sale at the landlord. Nearby bus stop (100 meters) and Groningen Airport (40 kilometers). Sights nearby include Bourtange, the Burcht Wedde and Gasterij Natuurlijk Smeerling.
Nature and surroundings
The farm is located on the edge of the beautiful nature reserve of Westerwolde, also called the Drenthe of Groningen. The landscape in which the streams Ruiten Aa and Mussel Aa flow together in the Westerwoldse Aa offers a great variety of flora and fauna. From the garden you have a view over the meadows, where the sheep graze, to the nearby nature reserve. You will regularly see deer and pheasants and spot many different birds, such as the green and the spotted woodpecker, the collared redstart or the goldfinch. You can follow several hiking, cycling, mountain biking and canoeing routes from the location. Take walks that will leave you silent in the surprising scenery of Westerwolde. The Westerwolde path runs along the B&B. Renting bicycles, mountain bikes or canoes is possible through the landlord. You can also bring your own horse, stables and grazing are available. Rates can be requested from the landlord.
