A mystical estate with 85 hectares of forest, a stately Manoir, beautiful chapel, caves, outbuildings, four gîtes and swimming pool. In the Dordogne (near Montignac), the cradle of Western European man. At Sablou it is usually deafeningly quiet, but it can also be bustling with life. A space, both heavenly and simple, where guests, friends and groups up to about 40 people can stay in our gîtes and for day events (wedding, congress, and the like) up to 250 people. A place to be for those attracted to silence, music, art, reflection, nature, personal development and meeting. It is the special energy on site that has inspired the residents of the estate since 2001 to realize their dream at Sablou, to have an experiment with their lives and to offer space to others. The Dordogne still has a mystical atmosphere here. in the silence of nature, Lascaux-Montignac, Fanlac, Buddhist monasteries and in the 14th century tower of Domaine du Sablou. It is this atmosphere that once inspired the building of this estate, which now has a rich history. A stately manor with beautiful hallways and halls and a majestic staircase portal, flanked by outbuildings and a beautiful chapel. The house is surrounded by a park of ancient trees and overlooks a peaceful valley to the medieval village of Fanlac. Near the tower of Sablou, a long underground tunnel actually starts. There are at least two caves on the property; the others are still waiting to be discovered..... Nature lovers are in for a treat here. There are many hiking and biking trails, canoeing, horseback riding is a special experience here. Medieval towns like Sarlat and les Eyzies, many castles and fortresses, plenty of markets, local activities and culinary delights.
