On the ground floor of the main house, the apartment has been newly renovated and converted into a vacation apartment with great attention to detail. The apartment (approx. 68sqm) has 2 bedrooms, a large one with a double bed and a smaller one with 2 single beds, suitable for 4 people, 1 bathroom with shower, WC, bidet and a large, well-equipped eat-in kitchen. In front of the entrance there is a wonderful loggia where you can eat in the evening to end the day in peace and quiet and a private garden. The Capanna and the apartment can be rented together, ideal for families or friends who want to vacation together but live separately. The owners live in the main house and are always available for any information you may need. We have chickens that produce fresh eggs, geese, cats, a dog and 5 sheep whose wool I process from shearing to weaving. It is dyed with natural materials from our own dye garden.
Nature and surroundings
The Dudda is a 300-year-old farmhouse and originally belonged to the Fattoria di Brolio. It is located in the heart of the Chianti Classico and in the immediate vicinity of the famous Castello di Brolio. The property is located in a quiet and idyllic valley surrounded by cypresses and oak woods, behind the house there is a stream called the "DUDDA". A perfect place to relax from the stress of everyday life and an ideal starting point for excursions to historic cities such as Siena, Florence, Arezzo, as well as medieval towns such as Montepulciano, Pienza and S.Gimignano. The nearest shopping facilities are in Gaiole (approx. 7 km) where there are several stores and restaurants. On the premises there is a hand weaving workshop run by the owner, everyone is welcome to visit the workshop with its traditional old hand looms and precious individual pieces. There are other small craft businesses in Gaiole and the surrounding area.
