Plenty of attractive, well prepared cross-country skiing trails guarantee skiing fun in the winter months. A natural toboggan run is also nearby. Recommended excursion destinations: Harzgerode Castle, the Glasebach Pit (mining museum), Anhalt castle ruins, Quedlinburg, Rübeland, Thale, Wernigerode, Brocken mountain.
