Simple, cozy nature house. Bedroom/living room with kitchen sink and gas stove. Wood stove. Refrigerator with freezer compartment, Oventje. Separate bathroom. Natural materials, very basic. There are chickens (no rooster) scratching in a run, and two dogs running around.
Nature and surroundings
Oudeschip is a small dike village in an agricultural area. If you go over the dike you look out on the bustle of Eemshaven and a good number of windmills. But look south and you'll see beautiful skies. After a brisk walk along the dike, a ramble across the salt marshes and the mud flats, or a look around the harbor, you can have a good time in the nostalgic brown café 't Zielhoes in Noordpolderzijl. On the very northernmost tip of the mainland of the Netherlands, Noordkaap, stands the work of art "De Hemelpoort. This 2.5-meter high gate made of steel was created by the Groningen artist René de Boer. From this point you have an unobstructed view over the water and the infinite sky above the mud flats. From Eemshaven the AG Ems ferry departs to the typical German wadden island of Borkum.
