Far away from all the hustle and bustle, is our beautiful nature house "Our Ireland". A place to unwind, vacation together with games, hiking, fishing, swimming, reading by the fireplace, making trips ... The house has downstairs a living room with open kitchen and an adjacent utility room with a toilet and a simple shower room with sink. In the living room there is a sitting area with chairs by a fireplace. To the side is a stone bed/bench with cushions (can be used as an extra sleeping place if necessary). On the other side is the kitchen with dining table and a (coal-fired) stove that heats the central heating water. Cooking is by induction. There are also a dishwasher, washing machine, dryer, oven with microwave and music set. Upstairs are 3 bedrooms. The house is fully equipped but it is not a fancy house. It remains an authentic cottage with single glazing, simple plumbing and self-burning stove (CV). An attractive house with character.
Nature and surroundings
An old Irish cottage surrounded by fields with views of mountains, sea and beautiful nature all around. The immediate surroundings of the house are fantastic. The house is an ideal base for beautiful circular walks in the area. The hiking trail Beara Way is highly recommended. By car, the Ring of Beara and parts of the Wild Atlantic Way are beautiful to drive. The house is just outside Castletownbere, a pleasant fishing town with all kinds of amenities, stores and pubs. The house is close to the sea (as the crow flies about 400 meters, 8 minutes walk to the beach). In front of the house is a garden with a terrace. A driveway from the road leads to a large parking lot next to the house.
