Nature house in Carennac

Although the house was built in the 1960s, many individual parts such as doors or the wonderful stone fireplace come from older houses and give the house an unmistakable charm. On the first floor there is a large living room (43 m²) with a dining table, a cozy sofa area and a huge fireplace, which probably comes from nearby Loubressac. The built-in wood-burning stove provides warmth in the winter months. The great acoustics of the room can be enjoyed with the music system. A well-stocked bookshelf and a collection of games provide variety and the travel guides and information folder provide information about tourist attractions as well as good shopping opportunities and restaurants. Both the living room and the kitchen have access to the spacious terrace with a view of the Dordogne. It offers a sunny or shady spot at any time of day. There is also room for guests at the large wooden table.

The Nature house is located two kilometers from the idyllic town of Carennac, directly on the unstraightened Dordogne in a nature reserve. The nearest neighbors are the cows of M. Poulet. The region around Carennac is very well developed for tourism but not overcrowded. Many medieval villages, castles, fortresses and pilgrimage sites such as Rocamadour, Collonges-la-Rouge, Turenne, Curemonte and Carennac are well preserved. The stalactite caves of Padirac, Grotte de Presque, Lacave and others are also well worth a visit. Day trips to the Vézère valley with the grotto of Lascaux, the Grand Roc with the site of the Cro-Magnon people should definitely be part of the vacation program. Local produce can be tasted and bought at the farmers' markets. There are more and more evening markets where customers can buy wine and food and eat together at the tables. The nearest bakeries and supermarkets are in Vayrac and Betaille.
