Next to our farm is the log cabin, which used to be used for summer cooking and eating. When we started remodeling in the farmhouse, we set up the log cabin for a comfortable temporary residence. It has since become a fun, sustainable nature house with simple amenities. We recently added an outhouse with a bathroom. The log cabin is located approximately opposite the farm entrance. The ground floor (about 13 m2) has everything for 2-4 people: sofa bed, cooking utensils, etc. In the attic (accessible with a pull-out ladder) there is a good single bed with a single trundle bed. Mosquito nets are provided for all beds. The small windows and the durable insulation downstairs (pavatex and clay stucco) keep it cool in summer. Because both the farmhouse and the log cabin are national monuments, nothing has been changed on the outside. We rent from 1 person, up to 4 people is possible for an additional amount per person.

Farmhouse and stookhut are located on a farm strip outside the beautiful village of Thesinge, and 12 km from the center of Groningen. The garden and the place on the farm-side of the log cabin can be used for walking, sitting, playing, picking fruit, boating or swimming in the pond. 1200 m away is public transportation, and a bike path goes through the farmlands to City or Ommeland. The Jacob path runs along our farm. The approximately 40 ha Ten Boersterbos, in which a hidden picking garden, is within walking distance. The land in the area is mostly pasture where sometimes cows or sheep walk. An organic farmer has varying crops and often sows colorful, bird- and insect-friendly field edges. On the way to the city of Groningen you pass the Liberation Forest, and through Kardinge, where you can swim in the Zilvermeer, or in sports center Kardinge. A little further on is Natuurbad Engelbert, and a beach at Meerstad.
