This self-sufficient eco cottage is the ideal opportunity for a couple or family to escape from the hustle and bustle, if back to basics doesn't scare you off. The nature house has 2 bedrooms, a bathroom, a living room and a kitchen. Next to the cottage is a wooden shed with an outdoor shower, a covered sleeping area (2 pers) and a wood storage area. Outside there is a large terrace and a campfire circle. If for you stoking your own fire for hot water, lighting the stove,... belongs to the experience of a nature house, the ideal place is for you. To keep the cottage as ecological as possible, there are only 12V electrical outlets, and USB. So you can't go with a hair dryer or a blender....
Nature and surroundings
This nature house is located on the edge of National Park the Hoge Kempen, Flanders' only national park and a gem in Limburg. Waking up to the greeting of a roe deer, rustling of wild boars and going into the night after a visit from the fox, is already an experience in itself. In addition, there are numerous other activities. Within 5 minutes walking distance are mountain biking and hiking routes and the famous Limburg cycling route network. Furthermore, you can also wakeboard at the nearby Terhills Cablepark, or just enjoy a drink in their cozy beach bar, If these physical activities are not for you, you can completely unwind at Elaisa Wellness, go shopping in Maasmechelen Village or go to the cinema. All this within a radius of 5 km. There are several restaurants and cafes within walking distance.
