Through a dirt road you reach an attractive apartment in an old farmhouse within cycling distance of Vlagtwedde. You overlook an orchard with old apple trees, walnut and hazel. You hear the birds singing and see squirrels climbing through the trees. You experience a varied landscape with meadows, woods and fields. The nature house has a private entrance and is located in a yard with ponies, donkey, chickens and geese. You can enjoy the surroundings or barbecue on the terrace. In winter, you can light the wood stove in the living room yourself for fun. The open kitchen is equipped with an induction hob, refrigerator with freezer, oven, dishwasher, coffee maker, Senseo and microwave. The two bedrooms can accommodate four adults and a baby. In addition, an extra child can sleep in the queen-size bed (120 wide and 190 long). You won't be bored even in bad weather: television, radio/DVD player and children's toys are provided.
Nature and surroundings
From the doorstep of the cottage you have direct access to hiking and cycling routes through the valley of the Ruiten Aa and Westerwolde. In recent years the valley has been restored to its old, meandering state. On shell paths through meadows and forests you can walk past old, characteristic villages, such as Smeerling, Ter Wupping and Wessinghuizen. The Noaberpad (from Nieuweschans to Emmerich in Germany) is a stone's throw from the cottage. By bicycle you have the opportunity to explore the rich, historic surroundings. Among others, the old fortress Bourtange, the castle in Wedde and the monastery in Ter Apel are well worth a visit. In the spa springs bath in Bad Nieuweschans you can be pampered. In the fairytale forest in Ter Apel, the Dinosaur Park in Wedde or the zoo in Emmen children will have fun. By car or public transportation, you can take a trip to the shipyard for giant cruise ships in Papenburg, Germany. Baker within walking distance.
