Welcome, we are Cees and Jantsje. Our cottage, was built in 1913 from recycled Frisian tiles (stones) from the previous farm that stood here. It has served as a pig and horse stable for about 80 years. When we bought the farm in 1996, the old stable was on the verge of collapse. Hence, Jantsje's father, a former farmer, thought it should be torn down. Unfortunately for him, he had a stubborn artist son-in-law who saw a project in it. Only 10 years later was restoration begun. This was mainly because we had taken in a refugee. His name is Abraham and he lived in a tiny Eriba caravan behind our farmhouse. Abraham started by repairing the roof. Now it is a fully furnished cottage with a barrel sauna, Jacuzzi, cold water plunge pool and outdoor shower. You have lots of space and privacy. Recharging spot par excellence!

Our cottage is near Winsum (municipality the Waadhoeke)in Friesland. This part of Friesland is called the Greidhoeke with endless views of green fields and ever-changing skies. Of long dikes, proud people, slightly stubborn but straightforward. With our heads in the clouds but our feet in the clay. In Friesland it is very central because you are within 20 minutes by car in Sneek, Bolsward, Leeuwarden, Harlingen or Franeker. There are cycling-walking and sailing routes. In the village are a bakery and a large supermarket (Coop) with delivery service. A must is to sit in the jacuzzi at night and enjoy the stars (with us no light pollution). Within walking and cycling distance there are several catering establishments. Furthermore, it is possible to follow a painting workshop our art gallery. And a must see is the Eise Eisinga Planetarium in Franeker and the Mummies in Wieuwerd. In short, come recharge and discover Friesland.
