Our farmhouse is located 50 meters from the Dokkumer Ee and lies between the village of Wyns and Bartlehiem, of course known for the little bridge and the Elfstedentocht, in an area where it is still dark at night and peace is still normal. In Wyns itself there is an eatery (De Winze) opposite the historic church, with a terrace by the water. For children there is a playground in the village. A ferry makes it possible in summer to explore the western side of the Dokkumer Ee (walking or cycling). Many bicycle routes in the area. Bicycles can be rented at bicycle store Joustra in Aldtsjerk. On request he will pick up and bring your bikes to/from Gastopstal. Wadden Sea and Lauwersmeer area are easily accessible from Wyns. A day trip to Ameland - only 45 minutes by boat - is also a fun experience. Of course, nearby are also Dokkum and Leeuwarden worth seeing, with the necessary museums and nice stores and eateries.
