They had this converted, sown and planted with pines and other woody plants, to make it suitable for agriculture and to add a house, with gardener's house, now farm.Estate the Toll, with its name, honors the many toll roads that Twente owned before the turn of the century. There was also a Tol tree on the estate, where the road from Enschede to Hengelo used to run. Only the name of the Estate and the house still recall this.
