The nature house is located at a peat-colonial farm on 5000m2 of land that includes a mini camping, information/rest point and rental caravan. The cottage is a wooden log cabin, with two single beds and a cozy sitting area that you can also use as a double bed. The compact kitchen is fully equipped and besides a gas stove and refrigerator there is also a Senseo coffee machine and a kettle. Towels are waiting for you in the closet. Outside there is a seating area under the covered veranda where you can spend many an hour while enjoying the beautiful singing of the birds. You will use the sanitary facilities of the campsite. The site is a green oasis surrounded by fields and silence. WIFI is available free of charge and you can charge your electric bikes in the bike shed. For a fee you can use a washer and dryer. Per 01-01-25 tourist tax will be €1.40.

Near the nature house are several fishing opportunities, including trout/sturgeon pond De Slegge. Also several swimming places, such as open air pool Moekes Gat, sand pit Selingerbeetse and just across the border in Germany Schloss Dankern. Ter Apel is within walking distance of Germany and the province of Drenthe. The beautiful forests of Ter Apel, Sellingen and the nature reserve Bargerveen provide a beautiful and varied cycling and walking landscape. Besides the beautiful nature, there is also a lot to experience for young and old in terms of culture: the museum monastery Ter Apel, the fortress Bourtange, Wonderwereld (Ter Apel), Kabouterland (Exloo), Wildlands (Emmen), Plopsaland (Coevorden), Joytime outdoor climbing park (Grolloo), shopping, going out and more. In short, this area is a great base to explore Groningen, Drenthe and Germany.
