Bike paths, hiking trails, a wide range of bridle paths (75 km!) and a visitor center offer you the opportunity to discover the nature of the national park. In the vicinity of the Drents Friese Wold, in addition to hiking, cycling and horseback riding, you can also make other fun trips: Drents Museum, recreation area Aekingerzand, recreation area Blauwe Meer, forest pool Appelscha, visit of megalithic tombs, Shakespeare Outdoor Theater at Diever, Groninger Museum and Groninger city center and several good restaurants in the area.
