On a private road on an old estate (now owned by the Brabants Landschap), the 1916-built stand-alone nature house is located in a quiet, attractive spot on the edge of the woods with a spacious south-facing view over the meadows. The sitting/front room with this view has a three-seater sofa, coffee table and two armchairs. Behind it the "upstairs room" with table + 3 chairs, (sleeping) couch, corner cupboard and children's table plus chairs. Next to it the hearth room with three-seater sofa, coffee table, corner cupboard (with glassware) and 2 (lazy) armchairs. Back door with access to hall, WC and kitchen-dining room with table for 6 or 8 chairs and also overlooking the meadows. The front room gives access through 2 doors to the terrace with garden furniture and a spacious garden of 1 hectare with BBQ, swings, children's playhouse and trampoline. On the second floor 4 bedrooms (2 with washbasin) and separate rooms for shower and WC. Bed linen (sizes see House Rules), dishes and towels bring your own, (Key transfer by phone).
Nature and surroundings
The former estate of more than 1,000 hectares consists of forest plots interspersed with meadows, fields and stretches of heathland. Most of the forest plots were planned at the beginning of the last century and consist of beech, oak or are mixed with softwood. At the time, much of the softwood was intended to shore up the underground tunnels of the Limburg coal mines. In the right season, grains can be seen in the fields and cows in the meadows. Parts of the estate were laid out park-like by famed landscape architect Leonard Springer.
