Nature house in MONTEBRACCO, BARGE

In an unspoiled corner of the Italian Alps, facing Monviso, we open the doors of our nature houses, a small hamlet nestled in the woods at an altitude of 900 meters, accessible via an earthen track of just over 1 km, by car in 10 minutes or in about twenty minutes on foot from the parking lot on the square of the Certosa di Mombracco in the town of Barge, Cuneo. The hamlet, derelict at the time of purchase, has retained its original features; the upgrades were done in green building, using ecological stone/wood/lime/paint and natural fibers for insulation. The hamlet includes a large long house, a small house for 2 people and the house where we live. The large long nature house for 4 people, consists of two rooms and living room that have a balcony overlooking the mountains, a kitchen and bathroom with shower. For winter, the heating is wood-fired. In the silence of the woods, we propose a stay of peace and nity.

An ideal place for a weekend in the mountains, for a week of relaxation, in osmosis with nature and also for work groups who need a few days of isolation.We have dark, starry, silent nights broken by the song of the owl and breathtaking sunrises that set Monviso ablaze. A 15-minute walk from the houses is the small hamlet of the Carthusian monastery of Mombracco, a 12th-century monastery. Next to the monastery ; the Trappa trattoria where you can eat in the shade of plane trees, home cooking from Piedmont. Countless sporting activities can be practiced on Montebracco: hiking and mountain biking on marked trails, climbing, or simply walking to discover the traces of rural life related to stone work, rock carvings, and alpine architecture. "Base camp" for the traditional Viso tour or ascent to the summit. Between Barge and Revello, a half-hour drive away, you can visit the superb Staffarda Abbey.
