Our fully equipped garden house has underfloor heating. The nature house consists of an entrance / living room and kitchenette (26 m2), bathroom (6 m2) with sink, shower, toilet and radiator, a bedroom (17 m2) and a staircase to floor (16 m2) with the second sleeping area. Furthermore, the garden house is equipped with: - TV - WiFi - Fully equipped kitchen with: - fridge - dishwasher - combi microwave - hob and extractor - crockery, cutlery and pans - private terraceIncluding bed linen, towels and kitchen towels.A laundry room with washing machine and tumble dryer is available for our guests at an extra charge.
Nature and surroundings
The 1895 B&B is just a 3-minute drive from Leeuwarden. When you drive into the village, you imagine yourself back in time. Our parsonage is part of the protected village sight. Jelsum is a mound village that arose on a salt marsh wall a few centuries before the beginning of the era. Counted from Leeuwarden, it is the first of a series of mound villages that arose on the eastern shore. The village was accessible towards Dokkumer Ee by the Jelsumervaart or Haskermeer lake south of the village. On the north side, the Cornjumervaart was just as far away from the village. Jelsum was located only a few hundred meters from the seawall of the Middelzee. At the end of the 19th century, the mound on the north side was excavated, the mound section on which Harinxmastate stood. Pastures within the still existing ring road show how extensive the almost double mound was. The southern part is still at elevation.
