My cozy colorful sleeping cottage is located on the outskirts of Genk in the front part of my long-gabled farmhouse from 1850 and is the former farmhouse. On the ground floor there is a spacious kitchen, a living room and a separate toilet. On the second floor there are 3 bedrooms and the bathroom. Outside there is a beautiful wild garden with a terrace. You can pick lettuce and herbs in the garden. The farmhouse has been refurbished over the years as authentic as possible, the wooden floors creak and the stairs are steep. Most of the items in the house are makings, wares and thrift store items and have been refurbished in my own studio. The studio is in the barn of the farmhouse and You are always welcome to come and have a browse or workshop. I live in the back stable myself so there is a cozy neighbor nearby. There is no TV, and the wifi is still being worked on, but there are books and games in the house, so you are also once REALLY AWAY from everything.
Nature and surroundings
My farm is situated on a plot of over 6000m2 and borders on nature reserve Schemmersberg, Bokrijk and nature reserve De Teut are a stone's throw away, so hours of walking and cycling are guaranteed! Outside I am still working, a vegetable garden is under construction, but the herbs are already in front of the door. The lettuce too, but usually the deer have got hold of those. The farm is on the edge of a quiet residential area and is not visible from the street, this provides the necessary privacy. In Genk itself there is also plenty to do culturally, C-MINE, LABIOMISTA and THOR park are close by. Good food can be found in the Vennestraat where there is a melting pot of different cultures to discover.
